Longer Trips

Gunbarrell Hwy

To the SW4WD brothers I thank you for a wonderful journey and the experiences that you bestowed upon me. I wish to thank Adrian from VKS radio and Kevin at the Wiluna garage for enabling us to get home.  I recommend this trip to any future SW4WD adventurers and look forward to new sagas set before us.  Stay safe and let the force be with you. Leaving Warakurna behind us 19.8km down the road we met up at the Mippibtjarra junction, which is the beginning of the abandon Gunbarrell Hwy.  I noticed a sign that read “ Road closed – Unsafe from this point on”.  What did the next part of this journey have in store for us?

Balbinya Ruins

It was a great trip, great company and I look forward to another if not the same trip again.

Heritage Trail Around Nanga

With more scenic bush around us it was not long before the next section of 4X4 work was upon us. A steep down hill decent with a little slippery section just to add interest.  Tim and Sam headed off first sending instruction back 1st low, bit slippery but should be okay.  So one by one after deciding who will travel with who to help those new to the game we were off.  Apart from a little slip and slide everyone made it to the bottom with no one coming unstuck.  So with egos and pride still in place and everyone safely down it was around the corner to Nanga campsite to say our farewells and reflect on a great day.

Esperance

Eight vehicles assembled bright and early ready for the big trip East of Esperance taking in Israelite Bay, the Australian Bight, Mount Ragged, old Telegraph lines and ruins of old homesteads. WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND THANKYOU CLIVE FOR ORGANISING IT
